Terms and conditions
The terms on which WebLothian provides this website and its services. Last updated 2026-10-15.
These terms
This website is operated by Harvie Software Solutions Ltd (company number 17514012), trading as WebLothian. Using the site means accepting these terms. Any actual work we do for you is governed by the written quote and any agreement that follows it, and where the two differ, that agreement wins.
The information on this site
We take care to keep the site accurate and current, but it is general information rather than advice for your particular situation. Nothing here is a binding offer: a price becomes binding when it is in a written quote addressed to you.
This site does not publish prices. The price for any work is the one in the written quote we give you, which holds for thirty days unless it says otherwise.
Enquiries and consultations
Sending an enquiry or requesting a consultation costs nothing and commits neither of us to anything. The consultation itself is free and carries no obligation.
Please do not send confidential information through the forms on this site. If something is sensitive, say so and we will arrange a better way to share it.
Work, payment and ownership
Every job is quoted in writing before it starts, with what is included and the price stated. Anything not included is quoted separately rather than added to an invoice.
On full payment, the finished website and its content are yours. Your web address (domain) is registered in your name from the outset. Third-party components such as fonts, libraries and stock imagery remain under their own licences, which we will tell you about where they matter.
Ongoing management is billed monthly and can be cancelled by either of us with a month’s notice. If you leave, the site and your web address go with you and there is nothing to pay for leaving.
What we are responsible for
We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill. We cannot promise that the site will be free of interruption, that a search engine will rank you in any particular position, or that a third-party service we rely on will never fail.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Beyond that, our total liability in connection with any piece of work is limited to the fees you have paid us for it, and we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or indirect loss.
Your content
You keep ownership of everything you give us: text, images, logos, data. By giving it to us you confirm you have the right to use it and you let us use it for the purpose of doing the work.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
